Professor (Ambassador) Ibrahim Agboola Gambari is a Nigerian scholar-diplomat born in Ilorin, Kwara state. He was Minister for External Affairs under tge 1984-85 Military regime. He was also the first Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Africa from 1999-2005. In that capacity, he worked closely with heads of government, key policymakers as well as institutions in the continent to develop the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
