Rayo was shocked but she tried to be a little bold and confident. She went back to the livingroom to her mum. As she approached her quietly, Atinuke noticed something different in her daughter. Rayo's movement was sluggish. She seemed too weak too. It was easy to discover how troubled she was.
Officer Theo is quite convinced now by the confessional statement of the duo. He is certain of the culprits and whom exactly to charge to court. The only challenge now is on what exactly to charge them for. If Dewale’s story is true, it means Motara was never raped. Hence; Dewale killed her out of rage contrary to what Bayo's plan was for her.
After every bad side of fate, there is always light at the end tunnel. When the cloud is darker, there is hope for a silver lining. After an impending period of gloom, sorrow and pain, Bolaji and his parents have some moments of relief.
After a very sad silence between both parties, Officer Theo wasn’t satisfied with what he had heard so far. But of course, he wouldn’t rush the details either. He wouldn’t want skip any part of the story. He thought it wise to let Bayo hold on to himself when he wants to, but he must say everything anyway.
A frenzied environment suddenly turned sullen. Dewale was ushered quickly into the ward with a stretcher. Shola wasn’t sure whether to be happy or sad, he kept on wishing he heard the wrong thing, this whole revelation should better be a lie.
Officer Titus is confused as a soul ladened with trouble that will not depart. He ran towards the window to check outside. But there was no sign of anyone. There was also no possible exit route out of the building except of course the fence which appears too tall for someone as feeble as Dewale to scale. After evaluating all the possibilities, he ran out of the ward towards the reception to raised the alarm.
Dewale was laying perplexed on his bed minutes ago; just before Shola left the ward. But how he managed to vanish not only from the bed but also from the 4 corners of the room is a mystery. Is it possible that he overheard Shola’s conversation with Tinuke and sensed the imminent trouble?
Officer Theo was equally shocked. He doesn’t want to believe what he was just told but in the same vein, he sees some iota of truth in it. His heart skipped at first, but he is finding the whole situation interesting. What if Shola is only being treacherous? He hates Dewale and therefore might be trying to buy out a way for his friend.
Dr. Pat’s knew his revelation was going to cause a spark but he also cannot even explain how exactly that came to be. Albeit, he wasn’t interested in doing any more work tonight, much less render any special favour to the policemen. But this flabbergastic outcome would not allow him seal his mouth. More so, it was a spontaneous reaction to a surprising discovery.
Dr. Pat came rushing out of the ward with sample of some blood. He was immediately followed by some nurses heading straight for the lab. They need to ascertain the sample of the blood and determine if they have its match in the blood bank. Officer Theo followed too and Dr. Pat wasn’t comfortable.
